Conrad Moss – Season wrap up and thanks

As my season has now pretty much reached its conclusion I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the club for the support in 2017.

As many of the club will know I have received a financial support, in instalments, from the club’s Rider Support Fund, to help with the cost of racing this year.
I began my cycling career in 1988, with the then MDRC; a club revered across the land, and feared within the region due to it’s proud racing tradition, and this heritage is something that is important to those of us that pull on the Red, gold and black in search of competition.

When the club formed the Race Team, it set out its objectives as follows:

a.. Raise the profile of racing within the club
b.. Continue the legacy of producing quality riders and results
c.. Retain and support young riders
d.. Reward results
e.. Create a lasting link between the club and its sponsor
I’d like to think that my results this year have gone some way towards supporting these aims – the club has received good coverage in the local press, and indeed the national press, with results featuring in CTT weekly reports, front page banners, and also coverage in CW.

The headlines are:

24 events ridden across 6 districts
2 National Championship Events
14 wins
3 x 2nds
1 Welsh championship
2 Regional championships
4 course records

4870 miles travelled
The money received covered about 60% of my spend on entry fees, fuel and hotel rooms (budget)

As you can see the cost of competition at a National level is not without significant cost, and would simply not have been possible without the support of the club.

Once again thanks to all of you.

Conrad
