Despite the muddy conditions the Delve family of Bickington and all members of the the Mid-Devon CC/Colin Lewis Cycles, scored a notable hatrick. Christian was first in the under 12's race leading from start to finish. This was the youngster's fourth win in series and he is now the clear overall leader.

His sister Georgia who attends the Rudolf Steiner School, Dartington, was first in the under 16's race and of course first Girl. This ride came seven days after Georgia represented the South West regional youth team at the Leicestershire based national inter area championships.

Their father Robin, who runs a specialist 'dry' carpet cleaning business cleaned up when he won the veteran's race . It was his first win for 2 seasons and moves him within striking distance of series leader Adrian Clode from Sidmouth. Clode finished second this week.

The other Mid-Devon CC/Colin Lewis Cycles youngsters performed well with Jack Hawtin winning the under 8's race and his sister Lucy being third in the under 10's event. The Mid-Devon CC/Colin Lewis Cycles seniors did not fare quite so well. Alan Drury was ninth and found the muddy section very trying. Richard Fowds in his first cyclo-cross race for two years - work on oil rigs off the Norwegian coast keeps him from many races - despite this handicap he came in eleventh. Will Hornby was twelth covering the open sections fast but losing a lot of time when the mud took hold.

The next race in the series is at Escot, Ottery St Mary on Sunday 25th November. The Mid-Devon CC/Colin Lewis Cycles are promoting the final round of on 16th December and will be held at South Dartmoor College, Ashburton.

While the cyclo-cross event was being run 20 plus members of the Mid-Devon CC/Colin Lewis Cycles had their Sunday morning clubrun. The riders enjoyed the fine autumn colours as they went along the Community Path from Bovey Tracey towards Lustleigh. It was then a hard climb to Sanduck before dropping down to their tea stop at Chagford. The return ride, after observing two minutes silence, was via Moretonhampstead and then past the Hennock Reservoirs.
