As you can see from the picture of him on the front dishing out some pain, Joe Saunders had a great 3 days racing over 4 stages of the North West Tour. He finished 17th in stage 2, 26th in stage 3 and 11th in stage 4, meaning he gets some National series points.
He was 25th in the overall GC.
His objective was to compete with the best riders on the front of the group which he did in all 3 stages (the first stage was a prologue). Brilliant experience for him riding in a big, tightly packed group. Well done to Joe who is improving all the time. We can expect to see more strong performances from Joe as the year continues
